Dragon Con is a huge multi-genre fan convention in downtown Atlanta held every Labor Day weekend, and most of its steampunk programming sits in the Alternate & Historical Fiction track; the next edition runs September 2–6, 2027.

What happens at Dragon Con
- The Alternate & Historical Fiction track covers period costuming demos, historical cosplay contests and alternate-history panels.
- In 2026 the track's steampunk-related program included Victorian clothing workshops, teapot racing and tea dueling.
- Period dances such as a Regency-themed cotillion and a 1920s champagne ball.
- A free public parade along Peachtree Street on Saturday morning; organizers estimated more than 75,000 attendees in 2026.
What to wear to Dragon Con
Atlanta on Labor Day weekend is hot, and Dragon Con means walking between hotels all day. Build a lighter look: a vest or corset over a breathable shirt, a skirt or trousers, and well-broken-in boots. Keep a coat for the evening dances.
